Gas-turbine procurement checklist

A buyer checklist for reviewing a proposed generator package before committing to equipment. Use it to structure supplier diligence and the commercial review.

01

Define the requirement

  • Project location, required MW, target energization date and load profile.
  • Fuel specification and availability; frequency, voltage and site conditions.
  • Permitting, emissions, interconnection and redundancy requirements.
02

Verify equipment and seller

  • Manufacturer, model, serial number, year, hours and starts.
  • Ownership or seller authorization, maintenance and preservation records.
  • Inspection access, testing evidence and site-rated performance assumptions.
03

Confirm the complete scope

  • Generator package, controls, switchgear and balance-of-plant inclusions.
  • Transport, installation, commissioning and acceptance responsibilities.
  • Warranty provider, covered items, exclusions and service-support pathway.
04

Document commercial terms

  • Dated availability, reservation conditions and delivery basis.
  • Price, payment milestones, delivery assumptions and acceptance conditions.
  • Submit the project brief; confidential records can follow an appropriate NDA.

This checklist is not an equipment offer or confirmation of inventory. Availability, performance, pricing and delivery require project-specific verification and written terms.

Data-center power requirements brief

Prepare a decision-ready starting brief for bridge power, behind-the-meter generation, storage or electrical infrastructure. Record unknowns explicitly so the review can focus on what must be resolved.

01

Project and decision authority

  • Site location, owner or sponsor, decision-maker and your role.
  • Development stage, site control and target energization date.
  • Initial MW, ultimate MW and the phased load schedule.
02

Operating requirements

  • Load profile, critical loads and redundancy or resilience objectives.
  • Grid capacity, interconnection status and expected connection date.
  • Fuel access, site constraints and known permitting or emissions requirements.
03

Technology and integration

  • Existing or proposed generation, BESS, UPS, transformers and switchgear.
  • For BESS: MW, MWh, discharge duration, duty cycle and charging source.
  • Voltage, frequency, controls, islanding and grid-parallel requirements.
04

Commercial next step

  • Budget or funding stage, procurement route and schedule priorities.
  • Available drawings and studies; identify documents requiring an NDA.
  • Send the brief for qualification and technical/commercial routing.

The brief supports an initial review. It is not a feasibility finding, engineered design, guaranteed delivery date or binding quotation.
